Aqualia was a prominent fixture at the H2Orizon I Hall of Innovation and Technology of Water in Seville between September 19 to 21, where over 500 professionals and public administration representatives from Spain and guest country Portugal gathered under the slogan “Efficient Water Management in the Digital World”. 

Aqualia actively participated in the technical programme and exhibition part of this event through the Almería Municipal Water Service. Javier Rubio, head of Municipal Water Service Networks in the capital of the Almeria region, led a conference in which he described the service's trajectory since the current concession began back in 1993 and highlighted the important role that the new technologies harnessed by Aqualia have had in improving the efficiency of the drinking water supply network. Javier Rubio gave a demonstration of how the company's smart network management system in Almería works and the benefits that such a programme in daily tasks at the management level in terms of agility and input data for simplifying decision-making.

Additionally, Frank Rogalla, R&D Director at the company, gave a presentation on the progress made in converting wastewater into water reuse suitable for farming and municipal irrigation, and Aqualia's activities in this regard using microalgae in the capital of the Almeria region in the Incover and Biosol Projects at the El Toyo WWTP.

The company also had a 24 m2 exhibition stand where the numerous Spanish and Portuguese authorities who inaugurated the hall stopped to learn more about the company's activity.

The company set the Almería Municipal Water Service as a national quintessence and showcased its involvement in the application of the latest technologies for improving efficiency and, consequently, citizen services and paving the path for new ways of generating high-value resources through environmentally sustainable formulas.
