Do you want to hunt down the trail of water? Aqualia rewards the effort of "young investigators"
Launch of the 17th Digital Drawing Contest for Children associated with the microsite www.investigadoresdelagua.com
In this year's contest, Aqualia invites young children to become investigators, find out where the water they drink and use every day comes from and see where it goes after they use it
In observance of the World Environmental Education Day (26 of January), Aqualia launches the 17th Digital Drawing Contest for Children, which raises the awareness of children and educates them on the values of water and the work it takes to bring a non-stop supply of high-quality water to our homes, as well as how it can be returned to nature with a sustainable approach.
In this year's contest, Aqualia invites children to become investigators, discover where the water they drink and use every day comes from and see where it goes after they use it. You can find all the pieces you need to draw the detective canvas at www.investigadoresdelagua.com, solving the clues one by one to discover the truth about the comprehensive water cycle.
3rd and 4th grade children of the schools in the municipalities in which Aqualia operates can participate in the contest. The organisation mentions that this year it "aims to help children discover the mystery behind water coming out of the tap by providing them with educational and audio-visual materials, so they understand the work behind managing this process and include it in their drawings". Young artists will receive useful messages and information during the creation phase; these "clues" will help the artist incorporate each phase of the water cycle in their drawings.
The Contest will not only be held in Spain, but also in Portugal, in which Aqualia manages the comprehensive water cycle in different municipalities. Children have until 22 March, World Water Day, to design and send their drawings.
Participants can win 10 individual prizes, including 10 7" Samsung Tablets, one for each winner; 250 prizes for runners-up, including a smartwatch; and 1 group prize for the school, which will receive a card with 1,000 euros to be spent on educational material. The name of the winners will be published on 15 April on Aqualia's website (www.aqualia.com), on the contest website, in Aqualia's offices and via Twitter, @ConcursoDMA.
The children's contest is one of the initiatives rolled out by Aqualia at primary and secondary schools and universities on an on-going basis to teach them about the phases of the water cycle and educate them on the responsible use and consumption of water.
