Aqualia played an important role in the Global Water Summit, held in London from April 8 to 10. Under the motto "Disruptive Designs", the event was used as the place to establish the strategic lines that will lead the path to the future of the water sector in the short and medium-term and has also served as a meeting place for the main global leaders.

Rafael Pérez Feito, Aqualia's Director of International Production, participated in the session "The Future of Water Investment: Landscape, Challenges & Opportunities" of the Finance discussion, in which the mechanisms that enable investment in the water sector worldwide were addressed. Pérez Feito stated that "it would be desirable to see a greater number of projects that can be funded in a scenario like the current one, in which funding is not the limiting factor".

Moreover, Frank Rogalla, R&D Manager of the company, acted as the moderator of the round table discussion "How much of the waste can we take out of waste water", in which different members of the discussion participated in turns to talk about the current state of water sector technologies that are in line with the circular economy.

More than 800 people attended the forum, which has once again become the benchmark congress in the sector worldwide. This year's event focused on water treatment technologies, financing of the sector, desalination, industrial waters and the new digital framework, all of which are pillars for the consolidation of the water sector's future.

The gala dinner was held as part of the event on the night of 9 April, during which the Global Water Awards were given. Aqualia as the runner-up of the "Best desalination company" and "Best desalination plant" categories by the Jerba SWDP (Tunisia).
