Aqualia recognized for its preventive trajectory at the 10th Edition of the Asepeyo Awards

Aqualia has been recognised for its prevention record at the 10th edition of the Asepeyo Antoni Serra Santamans Awards for best prevention practices. These awards, organised by the mutual association, focus on recognising member companies that have stood out for their results in terms of occupational risk prevention. Juan Luis Castillo, Aqualia's Zone II Director, accepted the award from José Mª Juncadella, Chairman of Asepeyo, at the awards ceremony held at the Barcelona Maritime Museum.

Asepeyo awarded Aqualia this distinction for its application of comprehensive People and Culture policies through the Be Aqualia project. This initiative encompasses a range of measures including improvements in the culture of prevention, physical and emotional health, diversity, promotion of healthy habits and professional commitment.

Additionally, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Aqualia's People policy included an emotional wellbeing plan for the comprehensive care of its workforce. This covers the implementation of hygiene measures, assessment and adaptation of facilities, training and information regarding risk, development of work protocols and procedures, supply and provision of all necessary means of protection, implementation of technical/organisational measures of a supra-preventive nature through Contingency Plans and an approach to psycho-emotional risks, which is fundamental for the prevention and management of workers' wellbeing.

For all these reasons, and as a priority after the severe lockdown, communication, active listening and flexibility, together with the reorganisation and/or adoption of new ways of working have been key elements within the company. By developing such initiatives, Aqualia contributes to the promotion of a safe and secure working environment for all workers (SDG 8) and the care of their mental health and wellbeing (SDG 3).

Aqualia is committed to the wellbeing of its workforce and promotes a specific Strategic People and Culture Plan, which includes internal dialogue as a way to create synergies. In this regard, the company has recently received a special mention in the fourth edition of the "Community of Madrid Occupational Risk Prevention Awards", which honoured "Good Practices for COVID-19 prevention and control in companies" in 2021.
