Aqualia's young talents partake in the IWA Young Water Professionals Spain 2022

  • A vast contingent of young technicians and researchers from the company are set to take part in the different activities of the event, both in the technical programme, presentations and posters, along with the institutional programme

Aqualia's young talents partake in the IWA Young Water Professionals Spain 2022

Today marks the start of IWA YWP Spain 2022, a conference organised by the Spanish Chapter of Young Water Professionals, together with AEAS, IWA and the main companies in the water sector in Spain, including Aqualia. The company will be represented in all areas of the conference. Aqualia Project Engineer Marina Jiménez, deputy chair of YWP Spain, was involved in organising the conference and will represent the YWP in the protocol activities. Water treatment technician Emérita Jiménez will be Aqualia's representative at the opening ceremony.
The technical programme includes a large contingent of representatives from Aqualia, with Naiara Hernández, who will present the paper "Sustainable desalination and recovery of brine resources". In turn, researcher David Marín will deliver a presentation on the Life Ulises project, which seeks energy self-sufficiency and the recovery of waste in conventional wastewater treatment plants through innovative low-cost technologies. Chemical Engineer and researcher Damián Amador, will speak on "LIFE PHOENIX: Innovative cost-effective treatments for reusing water and nutrients for agricultural application in small communities”. 
The Aqualia team also presented different technical posters, delivered by Damián Amador (LIFE INTEXT Project: Innovative hybrid INTensive – EXTensive resource recovery from wastewater in small communities), Rubén Asiain (Full-scale implementation of a novel method for fat, oil and grease quantification, recovery and valorisation), José Luis Marín (Desalination plants, best technical design options) and Marina Jiménez (Zero water district). 

With such extensive participation in IWA YWP Spain 2022, Aqualia reiterates its commitment to the promotion of young talent in the water management sector, under the vision that the future of the provision of these essential services depends, to a large extent, on the work and innovative vision of these young professionals.

Scheduled for 16–19 November 2022 at the Escola Tècnica Superior d'Enginyeria de la Universitat de València (ETSE-UV), the event is poised to be a meeting place for professionals from the world of water and aims to facilitate spaces for the exchange of experiences and knowledge between professionals from different fields.

Under the sponsorship of the sector's leading companies, including Aqualia, the third IWA YWP Spain will bring together different experts, technicians and managers from different areas of the water sector in the same space, to make a global x-ray of the sector and share the new innovations that are on the rise.
