Aqualia joins the #CEOForDiversity initiative to promote equity and inclusion in companies

Aqualia joins the second edition of the #CEOPorlaDiversidad alliance, led by Adecco Foundation and CEOE Foundation, to accelerate the development of strategies that contribute to business excellence, talent competitiveness in Spain and the reduction of inequality and social segregation.

Aqualia is the only integral water cycle operator that takes part in this pioneering initiative throughout Europe. Félix Parra, CEO of the company, has signed this alliance, which has a total of 70 male and female directors of the main companies in our country. Iberdrola, Naturgy, CaixaBank, BBVA, Santalucía Insurances, Ikea, El Corte Inglés, Mahou San Miguel, Saint-Gobain, Philips, Nestlé, Melia Hotels International and Renault Group are some of the companies that support #CEOPorlaDiversidad.

In this new edition of the alliance, formed in 2019, the 70 members commit themselves for going deeper in their politics and strategies for diversity, equity and inclusion, incorporating the alliance model and looking for synergies between the different companies. After the elaboration of the “Guide to accelerate the implementation of strategies for diversity in the company”, this alliance will tackle strategic issues that concern operational teams and diversity committees of the member companies. Some of the topics that will be addressed are inclusive communication, selection and leadership, the aging of the labour market, the inclusion of people with disabilities, the inequality of women or the strategies to create “diversity friendly” brands.

The adherence to #CEOPorlaDiversidad initiative is part of the sensitization and awareness actions that Aqualia directs to its stakeholders, in order to involve them in the transformation processes required to face social challenges and problems. In this sense, within its social responsibility policy, Aqualia is committed with diversity and has collaborated for 10 years with the Adecco Foundation to put its grain of sand in the common project for achieving a better society, aligned with the 2030 Agenda and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Along these lines, the company has recently renewed its commitment to the Diversity Charter for the 2021-2023 period, a european charter of principles, that confirms Aqualia's commitment with diversity and its contribution for the inclusiveness in the workplace.
