New contract in France for sewerage and wastewater treatment in 41 municipalities in the Centre-Loire Valley region

SEFO, Aqualia's French subsidiary that operates mainly in Île de France and Brittany, has just won a new wastewater treatment contract in the Dreux area, in the Eure-et-Loire department (Centre-Loire Valley region), to manage the wastewater of 41 municipalities.

The community council of the Agglomeration du Pays du Dreux has unanimously approved the proposal to award SEFO the delegated management of the sewerage and wastewater treatment service for part of the agglomeration. The contract involves the provision of the service for six years to 75,000 inhabitants and includes the management of 4 wastewater treatment plants, 561 kilometres of networks and 149 pumping stations.

With the award of this new contract, the company manages water services in 138 French municipalities for 890,000 inhabitants in the country. The company has experienced remarkable growth in France in just 4 years - since it entered the country in 2019 with the acquisition of the utility Services Publics et Industries Environnement (SPIE) - and brings the company closer to its consolidation as the fourth operator in the neighbouring country after the three main competitors (Veolia, Suez, and Saur).
