As well as its participation in the programme of activities, Aqualia organised a workshop on innovation and advanced systems management

Aqualia was present in the International Water Summit held in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates. from 15-18 January, where it displayed its intelligent solutions for operating water supply systems and the efficient management of wastes in urban treatment plants within the framework of the circular economy.

In the congresses area of the event, José Enrique Bofill, Regional Director MENA and Asia Regional Director, took part in the panel “Taking the waste out of waste water” together with other notable representatives such as Alan Thomson, General Director of the Emirate sanitation company (ADSSC). “Our vision of efficiency is to do much with little and convert waste water into resources,” stated Bofill.

Frank Rogalla, R&D Director, and Carlos García Díaz, Technical Manager of the project to reduce leaks in the supply in Riyadh, presented talks on Aqualia’s main innovation projects affecting the reduction of the carbon footprint (among these, H2020 MIDES) and of the advanced management of systems that company is carrying out in the capital of Saudi Arabia. These two talks were given in parallel workshops that the company organised in the city for the International Water Summit.

Aqualia also had a corporate stand of 42 m2 in the exhibition area which formed the meeting point for delegates and public authorities, especially in the Near East region. In the words of José Miguel Santos, Aqualia Country Manager in the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Oman, given in an interview on the corporate stand, “Aqualia’s main objective is to be close to its clients and to work hand-in-hand with the commitment of achieving common goals in the efficient management of water.”

In the Emirate of Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates), the headquarters of the event, Aqualia manages the operation and maintenance of the sanitation and treatment system in the eastern area, which includes the city of Al Ain and remote areas, serving a population of more than 650,000.
