Aqualia Receives Recognition from CDP for Its Climate, Water, and Supply Chain Management

The company achieved a double B rating for climate and water, complemented by an A- rating for Supplier Engagement

CDP has awarded Aqualia a double “B” rating for climate and water, providing international recognition for a management approach that integrates sustainability, resilience, and value creation for people and communities. In addition to this recognition, Aqualia received an “A-” rating in the Supplier Engagement Assessment (SEA), placing it among companies with advanced performance in managing climate change within the supply chain.

Sustainability is integral to the way Aqualia manages water, anticipates risks, and generates long-term value. This commitment has been recognized by CDP (Carbon Disclosure Project), one of the leading international authorities on environmental transparency and disclosure, which has awarded the company a B rating in climate management and a B rating in water security.

The CDP assessment particularly highlights the integration of sustainability into the business strategy and the active involvement of the entire value chain. Collaboration with suppliers, partners, government agencies, and users makes it possible to jointly identify and manage environmental risks and opportunities, strengthening the resilience of operations and amplifying the positive impact of the actions taken.

In this area, CDP’s Supplier Engagement Assessment (SEA) awards Aqualia an “A-” for its efforts to integrate its suppliers into its climate strategy. This assessment analyzes, among other aspects, governance, climate targets, Scope 3 emissions, and engagement with the value chain. The rating reflects Aqualia’s progress in climate management across its supply chain and in creating mechanisms that extend its sustainability goals beyond its own operations.

This commitment is embodied in tools such as the approval and evaluation process for strategic suppliers, as well as in training initiatives like the ESG Course for Suppliers, designed to strengthen knowledge and capabilities in key areas such as governance, carbon footprint, and human rights.

Beyond the recognition it has earned, participation in the CDP serves as a tool for continuous improvement that enables Aqualia to advance excellence in its environmental management, strengthen the trust of investors and stakeholders, and respond to an increasingly demanding regulatory environment. Transparency, rigorous measurement, and accountability are key elements in continuing to build a more competitive company that is prepared for the future.

The dual ratings of B and A- in the SEA validate the implementation of Aqualia’s Sustainability and Climate Change Strategy and its integration into day-to-day business operations. In line with the objectives of the Strategic Sustainability Plan (PESA), the company continues to move toward climate neutrality, promoting water efficiency, the circular economy, and innovative solutions that contribute to the resilience of the cities, regions, and ecosystems where it operates.
