Public-private partnerships are key to achieving sustainable water management.
At Aqualia, we are acutely aware of the importance of partnerships in getting things done more quickly. By collaborating with key social and economic agents, we can help to achieve the transformations required by the 2030 Agenda for the water sector.
Success stories:
Step by Water
StepbyWater is the first significant partnership to grow out of the “Water for Sustainable Development” International Decade for Action in Spain, which places SDG 6, Water and Sanitation, as a cross-cutting goal within the 2030 Agenda. The partnership, which features the public, private, third sector and civil-society sectors, has been promoted by more than twenty leading sustainability organisations, such as Aqualia. UNHCR
Water is central to development and is a driver of change for a more just society, as highlighted by the Sustainable Development Goals. Therefore, since 2019, Aqualia and UNHCR have been building #SedSolidarios (#ShowSolidarity), a humanitarian campaign to ensure that thousands of refugees have access to a source of drinking water. For this campaign, people are being asked to put their own steps in so that refugees have to spend less time every day going out to look for water. Every kilometre run or walked will improve many refugees' lives: sedsolidarios.com.
Adecco Foundation
Aqualia is involved in two initiatives overseen by the Fundación Adecco: #NoHayLímites (#ThereAreNoLimits), to break down stereotypes that impede the professional development of individuals with disabilities; and #CEOPorlaDiversidad (#CEOForDiversity), an initiative that Félix Parra, the company's CEO, has joined in order to unite companies and those who run them around the values of diversity, equity and inclusion.
